“NKCC1 inhibition: the long journey from basic research to clinical studies“

Despite years of investigation in animal models and clinical research on neurodevelopmental disorders, there are currently no pharmacological treatments for core symptoms of the vast majority of them. Here, we share the work of our laboratory on the development of therapeutic strategies for the treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders with a special focus on Down syndrome, which has culminated in two ongoing clinical trials.
