Nominations for the Chair of the Program Committee
The election for the Chair of the Program Committee for the next T21RS International Conference will be held next November 2026. This position is officer of T21RS and will participate as a member in the Executive Committee functions after their election and official announcement.
Strong leadership is critical to the vitality of the T21RS. Please consider this challenge carefully, and recruit qualified individuals for the nomination slate. We invite members to nominate great colleagues who are interested in becoming T21RS decision-makers and leaders. Self-nominations are welcomed. Only members can nominate, vote or run for office.
To nominate someone else, please check first the agreement of the nominee. Please send the name and email address of the nominee to secretariatecnicat21rs@bcocongresos.com, subject line: “Nomination Programme Chair”. Include a short bio sketch of 2 pages maximum and a short description of the candidate’s qualifications, to be distributed to the members. The deadline for nominations is the 31st of October.
Elections will proceed using an electronic ballot in the T21RS intranet (membership area).
The Chair of the Program Committee will be in charge of the Program of the next T21RS meeting that will be held in Belfast in 2028. The Chair is expected to organize and define the scientific program, participate in the searching of funding for travel fellowships and selection of the awardees, and publish meeting proceedings. Chairman term is for years 2027-2028. Among others the Chair has to work with T21RS President and Executive Committee to organize and overview the activities of the program committee, including (but not limited) to:
- Propose and select the featured program, including lectures, symposia and nanosymposia, and educational events.
- Review abstracts submitted by the membership and build coherent and logical scientific sessions, while ensuring that guidelines regarding scientific quality, ethics, and appropriate conduct in research and practice are met.
- Ensure that the scientific program adequately reflects the scientific interests and the composition of the membership.
- Revise the list of Themes and Topics and propose possible changes to the Executive Committee.
- Recruit invited speakers, finalize the scientific program schedule, review and select oral abstract presentations, review and select poster award nominations.
- Propose and select topics and panelists / speakers for the Meet the Experts Series.
- Review and approve satellite events.
- Write an Annual Report
- Apply for funding for T21RS meeting
- Ensure that the Program Committee should satisfy conditions of gender and preclinical/clinical balance.
